I finally finished it . . . my 'change' bowl. I started it last fall just before it got cold and uninviting in my garage. A couple weeks ago I decided to complete it. I started to put a finish on it. The conditions were perfect for generating static electricity. I took three strong jolts before I could let go of my polish rag. Those jolts got my attention. I decided this job needed to be completed on another day. I finished it yesterday with no problems. I modeled it after an 'ergonomically correct' snack bowl I found in a magazine. The article emphasized the interior curve of the sidewall and the high spot in the bottom. The high spot causes the m&m's or nuts to fall toward the sides for easier grabbin. I scaled this bowl down to about a 6 inch diameter and a 2-1/2' height. I didn't use the nicest lookin piece of cherry I had. Works great!! The coins come out a lot easier than what I was usin before.
