No 'Royal' Grudge Here . . .

The big wedding is Friday and I'm not on the guest list . . .  I could've gone . . . I don't really have anything planned in stone for this weekend.  Prince Charles didn't invite me to either of his weddings either . . . I guess they are still holding a grudge.  Ya see, I'm vaguely related to King George III via marriage.  One would think that sort of thing would carry on down the generations, but I guess not.

My paternal grandmother, Vera, was an Ashton.  Back in England they were "titled' which means they were landowners, which was a big deal back then.  I don't know what their title was.  Somebody in the family married one of George's relatives.  Don't know who or what the exact relationship is off the top of my head.  I have it in the genealogical paperwork I have around here somewhere.  I ought to go look it up.  My brother compiled all that stuff  He is really into genealogical stuff.  Anyway, the Ashtons were good friends with William Penn.  If ya remember your history, William left England and came to the states.  Don't remember if he was asked to leave or he decided on his own to leave.  The Ashtons came with him and some of them ended up in Highland Twp. which is in Defiance County, OH.

So I'm guessin that the 'Royals'  are still upset about the whole thing and that's why I'm not welcome to the wedding.  Must be a 'Royalty' thing.   I decided to let bygones be bygones long ago , , ,
