Short Week . . .

With Monday bein a holiday, it was a short week.  It was also a hot, tiring week.  I finished up my fourth week of mowin the rough with the little Toro.  You feel every bump with it.  I'm still tired from the week before last.  Since we haven't had rain for a couple weeks, the boss said to mow the green grass where ever I could find it.   Took me about 3 1/2 days to get everything trimmed.  I was about 15 minutes from completion yesterday, when one of the front castor wheels on the mower deck broke off.  Broke right off the vertical shaft holding it in place.  The little Toro is a trim mower and not designed to mow the rough, but it is all we have at the moment.  I'm not designed to feel every bump in the rough, but I'm holding up surprisingly well.  If ya do yer back exercises consistenly, it will make a difference.  Hope the rough mower gets fixed soon.  I miss the canopy that shields me from some of the sun, but I don't miss all the engine heat on my backside.  I have a plan to shield my backside from all that heat . . . and I'm not talkin about an ice water IV, though I have thought about the possiblity . . .

I think it was Thursday or maybe it was yesterday AM when I checked the weather on the net.  There was zero chance of precipitation for Bryan.  The map showed numerous green spots in Defiance County with is directly south of Williams County.  One of the green spots had yellow in it.  Makes me wonder why they didn't put a 10% chance in the forecast . . .

storms clouds

This is what the rain clouds looked liked from the golf course.   The sun was out all day and not a bit of precipitation fell where I was.

black eyed susans

While motoring about on my mower, lookin for green grass to cut, I noticed this lone Black Eyed Susan in the middle of some tall grass in a natural area . . . .   all tall brown grass with just this bit of color.
