Blowin In The Wind . . .

Found my self hummin Peter, Paul & Mary's 'Blowin In The Wind' yesterday mornin.  Never a good sign when I'm hummin one thing and the radio is playin something completely different.  The wind was blowin pretty hard yesterday . . . That probably had somethin to do with my hummin selection.   Been blowin pretty hard all day today, too.

Went to work to finish up mowin the rough . . . about 2 hrs. worth.  Ended up shreddin leaves with my mower till lunch.  Had a guy blowin leaves into a pile with a blower, then I shredded them up to almost nothing with my mower.  Hard to believe that piled up leaves don't really blow any where as hard as the wind was blowin . . . up to 35-40 at times.  Some of the leaves that were blowin off the trees kinda stung a bit when they hit me in the face.  Well, so much for a colorful fall.  Lots of brownish-green leaves on the trees, but I have a feelin that they aren't gonna turn anything but a disgusting brown before they fall.

The boss told me that this comin week is gonna be my last for the year.  That is ok by me.  It was a brutal summer.  Seven weeks of mowin the rough with the small Toro.  I was never able to completely mow the whole rough in a week.  It has no canopy to shield the sun.  Since it is a small mower, I was able to feel every rough spot out there.  All those 90+ degree days added to everyone's misery.  Then there was that hackin cough I had during June & July.  Not somethin I really want to go through again. After about two weeks, of inactivity, I will be wantin to count the days & weeks till I start mowin again.  The countin will only make it seem longer.

On the way to the Post Office this mornin, I saw a couple of roofs being replaced   Looked like the owner got a few of his friends together to help get it done.  Even though they were both one-story houses, I'm glad I wasn't out there.  The wind has been gustin 35-40 and higher all day.  Those shingles are gonna fly if the wind catches them.  Also saw a car wreck.  Looked like a smaller car t-boned a large SUV at an intersection.  The front end of the small car was smashed up pretty good.  The SUV was on it's side.  Don't see that very often.

Been goin to the post office a lot this month.  Ya gotta fill out a special form and take the package to post office when they are goin out of the country.  The US to international destination ratio is interesting.  I've made 22 on-line sales . . . 14 are international and 8 are stayin in the US.  Never had a spell like this before.
