This is my sleepin 'pile of fur' that I keep around. Patches T. Cat is her proper name. She is about 18 yrs old . . . that's 88 yrs. in people yrs. She has all the old age cat problems that cats have . . . a bit hard of hearin, kidney, thyroid and rapid heart beat problems. Can't do anything for the hearin part . . . haven't heard of hearin aids for cats, but I'm sure someone is workin on it. The vet has the kidney and thyroid problems controlled. Now we are workin on the rapid heart beat thing. Can't it by the photo, but she has been more active since we got the thyroid problem controlled and her heart beat slowed a bit.
A couple days ago, I took her to the vet for a check up. While in the waitin room a lady with a couple Yorkies came in and sat down. When someone with a dog came in, the Yorkies went nuts. I didn't know they were such yappie dogs. While I was waitin, two more dogs came in and. of course, the Yorkies went more nuts. I was sort of surprised that none of the dogs barked back. They sort of stopped and looked at theYorkies with a 'what's wrong with you' look.
One of those dreaded, blue-haired ladies came in with an Irish Setter type dog. The lady had him dressed in a coat. That wasn't so bad, but she shaved the dog's tail and left a ball of fur on the end of the tail, like a poodle. I could tell the dog wasn't thrilled about bein there . . . who would with a tail like that. When it was his time to go the the examination room, that dog definitely did not want to go, but finally did. The dogs I've seen there aren't a bit reluctant about goin to the exam rooms. Most of them are usually very friendly and willin to make new friends.
Goin back next week to what effect the rapid heart beat meds are havin. Wonder what kind of characters I'm gonna be seein in the waitin room.
