A Pleasant, Blue Sky, Sunny November Day . . .

It has been a pleasant, blue sky, sunny November day.

It started out on the frosty side.  We've had several mornings like this durin the last couple weeks.   This is a semi closeup of some of my grass in the backyard.

A bit later this AM I spotted some interesting cirrus cloud formations.

High cirrus clouds generally mean a weather change is comin real soon.  I wouldn't really classify these as 'high' cirrus clouds.  After some investigation, these cirrus clouds are more like 'fall streaks cirrus.'

Fall streaks form when snowflakes and ice crystals fall from cirrus clouds. The change in wind with height and how quickly these ice crystals fall determine the shapes and sizes the fall streaks attain. Since ice crystals fall much more slowly than raindrops, fall streaks tend to be stretched out horizontally as well as vertically. Cirrus streaks may be nearly straight, shaped like a comma, or seemingly all tangled together.  I don't recall seein such pronounced fall streaks recently.
