Slip Slidin Away . . .

I was at Main Stop gettin my coffee and paper this AM when the boss at the golf course called.  He wanted to know if he should mail my W-2 or if I wanted to pick it up.  Since I was out and about, I said I would pick it up.

It was rainin and the temperature was borderline freezin.  I was takin it easy cause  knew things might be slick here and there.  Everything was fine till I got to the clubhouse driveway.  It got slick real quick.  I fish tailed almost to the end of the driving range fence.  Hard to believe that I fish tailed that distance and didn't go off the road.  I was thinkin, while fish tailin all over the road,  that since I'm so close and if I slide off, maybe they will pull me out with the tractor.  Also thought about how I would have a pic for the blog.  I never seem to panic when I get myself into these types of situations and I and the strangest things pop into my mind like that one.  I had some good ones when I was breaking up fights back at the J.  Anyway I regained control and didn't go off the road. The parking lot at the shop was iced over.  There was a definite line of freezin and not freezin  at the clubhouse driveway!

While there, I asked the mechanic if he had rigged my mower so it would break down the second or third day I used it.  Said all he had done was remove the radiator to fix the leak.  They've been cuttin more dead Ash trees than fixin equipment so far this winter. Gonna be a lot less trees to mow around.  They counted over a hundred dead ones last sprin.

Been of a 'good luck' roll lately.  There was the long icy slide and my poly mailers.  I suddenly ran out of the large poly mailers I use for my eBay larger cookie cutter sets.  I ordered Friday and they came today.  In the mean time I did not sell a large set till today  . . . Just small sets that go into the small poly mailers.  Saved me a trip to Walmart to get paper envelopes.

UPS update -- Emailed the customer that postage would be a lot more than what the UPS website was tellin us.  Offered to cancel the sale and refund her payment.  She wanted those dishes really bad,so she sent me the difference.  I set up an oneline UPS account but still had some papers that UPS had to see before they would accept the package.  Since I am not ever going back the local UPS collection center, I drove it to Defiance.  Wow, what a difference !!!  Wasn't questioned about anything.  I don't mind the questions, but don't strongly imply that my answers aren't true.  Not lookin for problems from customs, USPS or UPS officials . . . Just want my package to get there.

While in Defiance I checked out the Goodwill for anything I think I can sell of eBay and make a buck.  The aisles were clogged with those pesky little blue-ladies that make it a point to get in my way and make my life miserable in any way they can come up with.  Instead of turnin around and leavin, I checked out some of the unclogged aisles.  I made a purchase and hope to list it later today.

Yesterday while in a neighboring town fulfillin an appointment with my chiropractor, I topped off my tank.  Gas was eleven cents cheaper there than Bryan.  Comin out one door I startled one of those little blue-haired ladies comin in the other door.  With a straight face I found myself laughin my fool head off, but at the same time thinkin that I'm probably gonna pay, BIG-TIME, for the startle.  Oh well, gives them something to do . . . .
