Frustating . . .

Thursday was a frustrating day.  I did manage to get something done, but it wasn't easy.

vet office

The day started with a visit to the vet with my cat, Patches.  They weighed her, took her blood pressure and some blood to check her thyroid.  I sort of felt bad, because she was sleepin very soundly when I put her in her carrier.  This is was taken in the examination room waiting for the vet.  Don't know why her black pupils don't show in the photo.  I tried the red eye fix tool on them but it did nothing.   I don't seem to have a green eye fix tool in my processin software.

Soon after gettin back home, I sat down to finish up all my taxes.  I tried to send my state and federal returns electronically again.  They came back with a mistake that I can't see.  Something about zip codes not matchin or bein incorrect.  I think I'm gonna mail paper copies.  Probably somethin very simple, but after lookin for it for three days, I can't see it.

I finished up the city form in a very reasonable amount of time.  I always take it to the tax office cause when I don't I usually get it back because I forgot to send a form with it and end up goin there anyway.  Once again I forgot a form. But I took my federal copy with me and we made a copy of the missin form.  And once again I made notes in my 2012 tax folder that I will probably lose or overlook again next year.

Next on the list was the local school income tax.  Never had a problem with it till this year.  It was like I got really stupid all of a sudden.  So after a couple, three hours of messin with it off and on, things suddenly became real clear and I completed it in no time, wonderin why I was havin so much trouble.  Decided to mail it rather than go the electronic route.

Durin all this I was washin clothes.  I put some stuff in the dryer, started it up and "thunk!!!"  It would not turn, but the motor was runnin.  This disgustin distraction might have been why I was havin so much trouble doin the school taxes.

So about 5 PM, I decided to investigate the dryer problem.  Tearin washers and dryers apart is not my idea of fun, even though I have done both more than once.  I found an extra belt with the instruction booklet.  I think I had problems with the dryer shortly after movin here but can't recall what the problem was.  Maybe I bought a new belt and found out that the old one had just slipped off somehow.  Don't know why I would have purchased a belt and not use it.  Anyway, I didn't hafta take every thing apart to fix it.  Just removing a small cover on the back, got me to the problem.  An idler pulley had come off the shaft.  The e-ring holding it had worn out.  That meant a trip to the hardware for a twenty five cent e-ring.  Went back together with minimal problems and frustration.  The hard part was getting the exhaust tubing to stay on while pushin the dryer back.  That took a while!!  I got a snoot or two full of dryer dust & dirt while messin with everything.  Don't recommend it for anyone.  Later on, I figgered that I was feelin the effects of the dirt and dust or that I was catchin a cold.  Glad to say that I was just feelin the effects of a snoot full of dryer dust and dirt.
