This is my first attempt at laminating different woods and turning an ink pen. It is made of Padauk and trimmed with Brazilian Rosewood. Not gonna win any design awards, but the joints are tight. My next attempt will be a lot more sophisticated. It takes a lot of thinkin and care selectin, cuttin, sandin and gluin up little pieces of wood.
Was passin through Ney, a little town south of here, a couple days ago. Gas was 3.69 there. It has been 3.72 in Bryan for about a week. I resisted toppin off that day. Yesterday, gas dropped to 3.67. I saved 5 cents a gallon by waitin. That 20 cents is all but burnin a hole in my pocket.
Spotted this vehicle this mornin. I've never noticed it around town before. Appears to be a 'retired' UPSP delivery jeep. What caught my eye was the spoiler that was added to the top. Whoever added it did a nice job welding and grinding the joints. Just needs a good paint job. Wonder if my lovely and talented, red-headed mail deliverin cousin is gonna be wantin a spoiler for here jeep . . .
