It has been very windy around here today.  Wind has been pretty steady 20-25 mph most of the day.  They say we could get gusts up to 55 this PM.  I have an anemometer and all I've seen are a couple gusts a bit over 30, but I haven't been sittin around watchin it.  I wish it had a memory, so I could see what the maximum gusts were.  The wind has been strong enough to loosen shingles on several houses facin the south.  They are all on the same street.  My shingles are all tight . . . last time I checked.  At least the temperature has been as high as 71 earlier today.

LENTEN ROSE

I notice that my Lenten Roses are gettin ready to bloom.  They are on the north side of the house in a sheltered area.  Crocuses and daffodils are up a few inches, but not anywhere close to bloomin.  Many years ago, I've had crocuses bloomin during the last week of February.  Ninety-eight percent of my crocuses were planted last fall.  Maybe they need to be a bit more established before bloomin.

Last post I posted a pic of the one and only solar powered LED stop sign in town.  Couldn't time it so I could get a pic with the LEDs on.  So, a few days ago, I took my good camera, which has a high speed burst mode and took several dozen shots.  Only took a few seconds.  High speed burst mode means that I'm takin pics as long as I hold the button down.

led SIGN

I can see where this mode would be great for sports.  First time I ever used it.  The ghost type blobs are very wet fallin snowflakes.

RED CAT

I was gettin in my truck the other day, when I saw this red cat on his way to somewhere.  Not a bad shot for shootin it through a dirty windshield and into the sun.

Yesterday I spent some time in the local Dollar Store.  I think I walked in on a flash mob of those dreaded, little blue-haired women.  They had the main aisles pretty well clogged up with their grocery carts.  I zig zagged to what I went there for and zig zagged my way back to the cash register.  At the end of one aisle I came upon a little red headed girl patiently sittin in a cart.  When she saw me she perked up, smiled and started wavin to me.  Made it worth gettin there when all those dreaded, little blue haired women were there.
