The Rollin Of The Greens . . .

First day back at the golf course.  First order of business was settin up the 'office pool' for the NCAA BB tournament.  Boss said everyone pays in $5.  I started to get the fiver out of my wallet, but he said I didn't hafta pay today.  So I figger my job is good till at least the end of the tournament and he gets that fiver from me.  How's that for job security???

I spent the mornin raking and pickin up twigs. I will have a sore back tomorrow.  They rolled and mowed a few greens yesterday.  The greens will 'pop' once they are mowed.  Started mowin fairways today.  Dependin on how much rain we get tonight, I figger they will get rolled tomorrow.

After lunch, the boss introduced me to this machine.  We use it to roll the greens and tees.  One of the few machines I had not driven till today.  It wasn't as difficult as they told me it would be.

This is what the #10 green looks like after it has been rolled for the first time.  Believe it or not, you could almost see the greens and fairways green up.

All it takes is a mowin and some warm weather to warm up the soil.  A few more days of this weather and it will be a very nice shade consistent green.

I figger the weather will stay unseasonably warm till I start mowin the rough all day.  Then it will cool off and I'll be freezin body parts off.
