This is what things look like from the new seat they put on the mower. I will probably spend 85-90% of the summer drivin it around look for long grass to cut. Mowin the rough is my main job. There will be a lot of long grass till it gets hot and dry, possibly July, when it will slow down.
This is a big snake I spotted at the edge of #7 fairway. I'm assumin it is a garter snake, but it is pretty big. Not sure how big garter snakes can get. Saw one of the big snappin turtles today. Tried to get a pic but the sun was too bright for my lcd screen on the camera. Viewfinders are very handy when the sun is bright. Yesterday a small turtle was crossin one of the fairways while we were draggin it. He got flipped a few feet into the air and landed on his back. We went back and put him on his feet. Have no idea where he was headed. The pond was behind him.
The boss brought his border collie, Bogie, to work. Bogie used to come almost every day. He is gettin to be a pretty old dog now and is havin problems with his hips. He still thinks he 'owns' the golf course. He was makin sure I was cleanin up the shrubbery correctly this AM.
The weather people are sayin we are gonna have a couple more days of low to mid 80's weather before it cools back to the 60's. All the spring flowers, trees and shrubs are in full bloom. About the only flowers I haven't seen are tulips and irises. It is nice to see the spring flowers, but I expect them to be gone in a week or two.
