There were two garage sales today. One at 8AM and the other at 9 AM. It was still pretty dark this morning at 8 AM, but I was able to see well enough to snag a couple good buys.
I spotted the box of Brix Blox right awas. I never heard of them till today. Sold by Sears and marked 'Made in Japan.' Don't see that on anything very often anymore. The box looked full, so I grabbed it before anyone else got it. It is a reflex anymore. I was the only one there. Underneath the Brix was the model kit. Only two pieces broke off the sprues and many things were still in plastic bags, so I grabbed it too.
Saw a couple other interesting things, but I passed on them because I knew I was gonna have a difficult time finding a shipping box. Finding the right size shipping box goes into a lot of my purchasing decisions.
Since the next sale was at nine, I stopped at the Circle K for coffee.
Coming out of the store, I notice this sign repairman. I'm wondering if he will be fixing the sign so they can lower the price. Guess I'll hafta wait till tomorrow to find out.
Next stop was the local grocery store. They are usually stocking shelves this time of day. I knew I didn't have boxes for either of my purchases. I found a couple promising sized boxes. Turns out the model kit fits perfectly in one, but the Brix are a bit too big. I'll hafta keep lookin for a bit bigger box.
Walkin back to my truck a lady walkin to the store says, 'Hi, Mike.' I had no idea who she was. I just smiled and returned the greeting. I hate when that happens. I didn't recognize her vehicle either.
There wasn't anything interesting at the next sale, sort of. The two car garage was full of little kids clothes and shoes. There must have been at least a hundred pair of shoes! I'm not exagerating. That garage was better stocked than some shoe stores . . . I wonder how many people went together for that sale.
