Misc. Meanderings

When I got to work this AM, the boss said to look for long grass to cut. I knew where he meant. I was kind of surprised how much damage the 90+ degree temps and wind did to everything, especially the undergrowth in the woods the past 3 days.

After about an hour and a half of mowing, the first wave of showers came through. I headed for the shelter when the rainfall got heavy to wait it out. After about an hr., I decided to call the shop to what radar was showing. My phone wouldn't work. It wasn't showing any bars. When it let up a bit, I drove back to the shop. The boss said he had tried to call me several times to see where I was so someone could come and get me. By that time it was 10 AM and it looked like another hr of rain, so I quit for the day. We had a 1 PM outing scheduled, so it was going to be a short day anyway. Don't know if they held the outing or not. Rain has been on & off all day, nothing heavy. It just started up again this evening. I think it is going to be a stormy wet night.

My PT Cruiser's battery died recently. It wasn't the easiest battery to locate. It was covered with acid. Not that unusual on vehicles that aren't driven much. I installed the replacement and should be good for a few more yrs. I'm pretty sure I got all the parts I had to remove to get to it back in place ok. I had no parts left over -- this time.
