That wind out there today, is downright COLD!!!
There were a couple garage sales in town this mornin. One had some really neat stuff. It was also just crawlin with those little blue-haired ladies that get in everyone's way, especially mine. The people were sellin a 'truckload' of costume jewelry. Don't think I've ever seen so much jewelry of that type in one place.
Last evening on one of the cable channels there was a program about how UPS works. I thought it was a very interesting program, much more interesting than that 'Dancin with the Stars' program . . . More about that later. UPS drivers have a gadget that maps out their delivery route. It is a lot more sophisticated than a gps. Did you know that UPS trucks very rarely make left hand turns??? Takes too long and wastes gas while waiting for oncoming traffic to clear. I think I need one to lay out my route to the garage sales. Sometimes I find myself doing a lot of backtracking.
Now about that Dancin program that so many people think they hafta watch. I'm pretty sure I've never watched a complete program and I know I've never voted. A couple days ago I read an article in the local newspaper about this guy in one of those New England states that got so upset about Bristol Palin gettin enough votes to dance another week, that he blasted his tv away with his shotgun. They had to call out the local SWAT team to settle him down. Boy, oh boy, just when I think I have no life . . . . Now some of the talkin tv heads are sayin that the Tea Party people are votin for her just to keep her on the program. . . At least I haven't hear George Bush's name mentioned . . . yet . . . Like I said before, just when I think I have no life . . .
Been keepin an eye on this leaf for a couple weeks now . . .
It is the very last leaf on the tree which is a few houses down the street from me. It has survived some big winds and a couple rains that weren't close to bein downpours. It was still there this AM.
A couple days ago as I was walkin out of the post office, I noticed an ambulance parked in front of a store on the next block. Then I noticed a car on the sidewalk. So naturally I had to walk down the street to see what was goin on. Seems that a lady was tryin to parallel park in front of her destination. She ended up bustin out the windows of the business. Didn't have a camera with me. In Grand Rapids this week, a guy was tryin to angle park in front of a restaurant and ended up with his front bumper against the bar inside. Not a good week for people tryin to park . . .
Late last winter I think I counted 18 deer grazing this field before losin track of them. A few days ago I saw 5 in the same field. I wonder if the hunters know of this spot. Ask me and I'll tell you where it is. There is no shortage of deer around here!!
I put down a new kitchen floor this past week. Didn't try to do it all at once and my back survived in better shape than I thought it was going to. Those exercises do make a difference I ya do 'em regularly, like they tell ya to.
