Monday, November 22, 2010 . . .

Friday, I began the post with how cold it was . . . Today I'm beginin with how warm it is . . . 63 at the moment.

I was gonna do this post yesterday, but I ended up running labels for eBay stuff  . . .  for what seemed like all afternoon and evening.   Would you believe 4 boxes, 7 packages that went into my mailbox this AM and I took the boxes and 3 more international packages to the post office late this AM and  I'm waitin for 2 other customers to pay for their weekend purchases.  People just kept buyin and buyin.  Don't think I've ever had a weekend like this one, eBaywise.  Would you believe that I sent a set of my classic Christmas cookie cutters to Israel??  The name was definitely not an American type name.

Saturday afternoon was so pleasant that I decided to hike one of the trails in Goll Woods.  There is a barn near there with a one of a kind decoration on it.  If you pay attention, you'll see barns with interesting things painted on them.

smiley barn

I call this one a 'Smiley Barn.'  It is west of Ney, OH.  It also has one of those stars that people put on their houses and outbuldings.

motorcycle barn

This is probably a 'one of a kind' barn, a 'motorcycle barn.'

A while back I blogged about a barn that has a very large mural painted on it.  I spotted another barn in the area recently with a similiar mural painted on it.  I'm wonderin if the same person did the mural.  Go HERE to see the mural barn and a couple other 'decorated' barns.  I love to photograph old barns and other old farm buildings.  I need to take a photo 'op' type trip sometime soon.  Haven't done that for a long time.

Anyway on the way back from Goll Woods, I decided to go a bit out of my way and see if there were any hawks hangin out along US 6.  Spotted two of them.  The first was sittin on a fence post with his back to the road.  A couple miles down the highway, I spotted another sittin one a cross arm of an electric pole.  Never been able to get a camera on one.  Along the highway they are pretty skittish.  One can almost always see a hawk or two along US 6.  More than once I've seen a hawk swoop into the grass a couple feet into the grass along that highway.  Something had just become 'lunch.'  One time while I was mowin at the golf course, I saw a hawk pick a bird out to the air.  Don't see anything like that very often.

I haven't been to an auction for a long time.  There was an afternoon auction in Napoleon yesterday, so I decided to check it out.  It was a 'nice day for a drive' type auction. Only one lot that I would have been interested in bidding on.  Never been to an auction that was three quarters fabric and sewing supplies.  Since they were selling the fabric first, I wasn't in the mood to stand around 2 to 3 hrs till they got to what I wanted.  Sometimes when you do that, most of the people have left and you get what you want for almost nothin.  If there would have been more of my type stuff there, I would have hung around.

Axx

On the way to Napoleon,  there is a cemetery.  For some reason I've always thought the name on this monument was a 'neat' name.  Short, easy to spell and say . . . what else would one want in a name??

Saw a short article in the Sunday newspaper.  It was about the most often tried to locate places that drivers used their wireless phone gps's for during September of this yr.  Don't ask me how or why they figgered all this out.  Anyway, McDonald's was the most searched for eatin type place, Holiday Inn Hotel & Resorts was the most searched sleepin place, Walmart was the most searched for shoppin place . . . and Starbucks was the most searched for coffee place.  From here one would probably hafta got to Ft. Wayne or Toledo for a Starbucks . . . though just maybe Angola might have one . . . Angola is sort of a resort town.

Like I said before, I was gonna type up all stufff yesterday, but eBay got in the way . . . Now I gotta quit complainin about it and go to the bank . . . I just hate 'complainin all the way to the bank.'
