Interesting Day . . .

Had my long awaited appointment with the allergy doctor this morning.  I've had nasal congestion on and worse since the early '80's.  I could never figger out what triggered it.  Most of the stuff that my regular Dr. prescribed had very little consistent effect on the problem.  Been waiting since the first of November for today.  Allergy tests are pretty simple.  They decide how many to give you . . . they said they have 50 or 60.  They gave me 18.  First they draw a "map" on your back, then proceed to stab ya with plastic toothpicks.  Since I have this aversion to needles, this was not my idea of a fun time.  After they're done stabbin ya, they set timers.  Some test go 7 minutes and some 14.  Then they come look at what is left of your back and you're done.  So, guess what, all the allergy tests came back negative.  They then decided to x-ray my sinuses.  Now I'm waitin to see what they find in there, besides lots of congestion.  My regular Dr. prescribed a newer nasal spray last November that has made a big difference.  I almost cancelled today's appt., but decided not to.  At least I know the congestion isn't an allergy.

After the relatively clean bill of health, I decided to check out some stores in Ft. Wayne this PM.  There was one store in particular that I was plannin some purchases.  So, guess what . . . No I didn't forget my money or the list . . . The store was closed.  It was completely empty.  I was left standing on the snow covered sidewalk looking very disapointed & disgusted.  Note on the door invited me to go to the Indianapolis store.  I declined the invitation.  I obviously should have gone to the Toledo store, but Ft. Wayne is closer and I like Ft. Wayne a lot better than Toledo.

The trip wasn't total washout,  I had planned to check out a couple other stores and a couple thrift type store tween here and Ft. Wayne anyway.  I found a couple ball gloves for almost nothing.  They are left handed which means they will sell quick on eBay.  I have accumulated quite a few baseball gloves and aluminum bats since mid-summer.  I'll start listing them around the first half of March.
