Still Ramblin . . . Weather & Grease . . .

My thermometer in the backyard this morning said I owed someone 1.6 degrees . . . Why do I have a feelin that I'm gonna get a bill for them sometime in the near future???  They want us to pay a tax cause they say its too warm, so it seems to me that they will want money when we use too many degrees . . .The record low for these parts is -18 back in '63.

I was usin my remote to click through all the channels that my cable company offers the other night.  I found a program on the History Channel's Modern Marvels program that caught my interest.  It was about grease . . . not the Broadway Play "Grease," but grease . . . the gooey, slimey, slippery stuff.  I doubt that the average 'man on the street' thinks much about grease.  Grease is more complicated than one thinks.  They have grease formulations for everything . . . . . . automobiles, jet planes, ships, and even railroad tracks and more.  Bet you didn't know they grease railroad tracks . . . it is a soybean based bio-degradable formulation . . .  lasts about a month.  They showed situations where they applied it with rollers, kinda like paintin a wall and brushes.  There are formulations for underwater situations, very cold situations and very hot situations . . . Grease is pretty important stuff, its on everything that moves.  Without it, we could be still livin in those caves that I've heard about back in the fourth grade.
