A Tragic Tragedy Averted . . .

Saturday PM, I decided to take a break from doing basically nothing and get my cat, Patches T. Cat, a new supply of vittles.  Little did I know that a potentially life changin experience was ahead of me!!  I was walkin down this aisle, mindin my own business, of course, at the local Walmart, headed to the cat food section.  There was a slow movin cart ahead of me bein pushed by a mom, on her phone with two little boys.  They had the aisle completely blocked.  The kids were a bit too tall to step over.  So I patiently waited for a chance to get around them.  We were very slowly comin to an intersecting aisle.  This was my chance to get around them.  As I was passin the mom on the phone, there was another lady pushin a cart, obviously over the speed limit, comin right at me!!  My life didn't flash before my eyes or anything like that . . . not sure if that says anything about my life or not.  I'll let you decide.  Anyway, due to my geriatrically quick reflexes, I was able to get myself out of the way of that speeding cart averting being smashed and possibly crushed between the two carts.  I didn't have the courage to look back.  I didn't hear any screamin kids, just the shifting of merchandise in that speeding cart and the metallic thunk of the carts colliding.  I grabbed some cat food and got out of there.

When I got home, I told Patches about my close call with death and/or injury . . . I figgered she would be sympathetic, but . . .  The photo above was her reaction . . . and yes, I did check to see if she was breathin . . ..
