Weather & More . . .

Yesterday AM everything was encased in at least a quarter inch of ice.  I think its been a while since I've been around ice this thick.

It wasn't a really clear ice.  It had a definite white tinge.  A lot of sleet froze to stuff before it turned to rain.  It was pretty crunchy walkin around.  I know that a few schools scheduled Monday as a make up day, but their make up day was cancelled.

About noon it started snowin.  The first time I checked weather .com, they said the total snowfall would be 2" - 4" inches and be done around 5.  Every time I checked back, they moved the stoppin time back an hour.  I think we ended up with 5-6".  It was pretty well done tween 9 & 10 PM.  Virtually all the schools were closed today.  Now we got a lot of snow on top a lot of ice. I didn't take another pic of my snow filled back yard.  Just scroll back to the beginning of February in the archives if you want to see my snow filled back yard.

I started listing baseball gloves yesterday.  Didn't take long for the two I listed to sell.  The catcher's mitt took about 3 hrs. and a nice fielder glove took 8-9 hours.  I started the day with 14 gloves that I've been collecting from garage sales and thrift stores.  I listed a couple more gloves today.  The first baseman's softball glove took about an hour.  Of the two bats I listed, one took about a half hour.  All are going to southern states.  It is nice when stuff moves out quick.

First thing this AM my toner cartridge went Ka-Blooey.  First one that I've had re-filled that has gone bad.  Only been usin it for about 6 mos.  I usually get around a yr. out of them.  Ended up goin to Defiance to get one.  I almost didn't go in the Goodwill store there.  I had been in there last Saturday and with the bad weather I figgered donations would be way down and no new stuff on the shelves.  Boy, was I wrong.  I picked up a nice set of 3 pyrex mixing bowls.  The paint isn't in mint condition, but I should get some decent bucks for them.  That will help pay for that cartridge.  They are expensive!!

While in the area, I topped off my gas tank at $3.07.  When I got back to Bryan, gas was 3.29.  A few things have been goin right the last couple days, but I wasn't expecting to have to get a new cartridge this soon.  Oh, well.
