It was a very nice, blue sky sunny day for a change. Could have used a bit more wind, but after yesterday, I'm not gonna fuss about it. The winds were in the 20's most of the time yesterday.
This is a shot of the 6th fairway and green. My camera's eye did not capture what mine saw . . . but it takes a mighty good camera and set up to come close to the human eye.
I was in my own little mowin world most of the day. Things were goin pretty good. Had 3 or 4 close calls with the soft ground and getting stuck in the mud. Shortly after I took this pic, I got stuck. I figger it was the law of averages. The ground is just so saturated! I'm kinda surprised that this is the first time I got stuck since the first week of May.
Shortly after I got pulled out of the mud, a bunch of bumble bees decided to investigate me. Don't know if I disturbed a nest or what. One acted like he was gonna fly up my pant leg. I don't know if bumble bees sting or not . . . Either way, I'm not to keen on them or anything else flying up my pant leg. If he had, I'm pretty sure there would have been a disturbance or at the very least a significant commotion in the 6-12 triangle where I was mowin!!
We are hosting a Toledo District Golf Tournament on Friday and a member/guest shindig on Saturday. If the rains hold off, the course will look decent. If we get much rain the next 2 days, I don't think the ground will support my mower . . . I have the wettest part of the course to get mowed by Friday. Not much one can do about the weather, we just do what we can do . . . There are lots more serious weather-related problems than an overgrown golf course.
