Adventures At The Country Club . . .

I finally got through a day without gettin stuck in the mud . . .   Probably cause we've had four consecutive rainless days with sunshine and a strong dryin wind.  This week's total so far is 5 times in 3 days.  I still have 2 or 3 hours of touch up mowin to get done tomorrow AM.  I don't expect any 'traction' problems.

MOWER

This was my yesterday afternoon 'stuck.'  If there would not have been a house nearby, I think I would have been screamin nasty things.  This one really made me mad.  I was turnin away from the wet spot and it reached out and grabbed my wheel.

MOWER WHEEL

This photo shows how far I sank in  . . . I didn't even try to back out, figuring I would only make it worse.  Called for a tow . . . anymore when the shop phone rings, they figger it is me.  Well anyway, someone was there to answer the phone, but the tractor ran out of fuel on the way out.  That meant, Lynn had to walk back to the shop, fill up a can of fuel and carry it back to the tractor.  When he got there I told him I was gonna be in trouble when someone realizes that the reason the tractor ran out of fuel is cause I had to be pulled out 5 times this week.  I don't think posi-traction or all wheel drive would have gotten me out of this one.  Decided to buy donuts for everyone the first day I didn't get stuck.  I figgered it would be Monday, because I didn't think I would be working Sunday . . .

This morning my mower decided it wasn't gonna start.  Determined the battery was ok, wiggle-waggled some wires and it started.  Headed back to the back corner where it has been super wet and the grass grows good anyway.  It was mowed Wednesday with a little mower.  It was dry enough to mow today with my mower.

WIN ROWS

This is what much of the rough looked liked when I cut it today.  Ready to be baled.

Didn't get much done this PM cause I had several minor problems, one after another, with the mower.  So I gotta get up and go finish in the mornin.  There is a tournament Sunday, so we would like to get things lookin decent in spite of the weather problems.

The construction company putting in the sewer line uses part of our parking lot to store stone and sewer pipe.  After we left for the day yesterday, they dumped a couple loads of stone.  They bring it in on 18 wheel dump beds.  Well, the driver forgot about the electric lines above him.  Need I say more . . . The electricity blew several tires off the truck leaving a crater in the parking lot.  The driver wasn't injured.

BLAST HOLE

I noticed the black spots in the parking lot this AM, but didn't think much more about it.  They said the craters were over a foot deep.  The area lost power and the electric company had to come out and fix things.   The clubhouse lost a phase and screwed up the air conditioner.  Been an interesting summer and it is only the third day of June. . . .
