Monday, Monday . . .

It has been a day with "Monday" written all over it!  I was gettin my mornin cup of gas station coffee.  The nice young clerk lady came back to re-fill one of the pots.  She dropped the new coffee grounds on the floor.  I said nothing . . . I really do know when to keep my mouth shut . . . really . . . 

I filled the mower with fuel and went out to mow.  I discovered that I had forgotten to put the gas cap back on.  I was able to find the cap and I enjoyed the strong fragrance of diesel all mornin.

About 8:30, Matt came out to take over.  I had a dentist appt. to deal with.  As I was gettin off the mower, I noticed that sidewall of one of the tires was comin apart.  Didn't think that tire was gonna last much longer.  Got through 'cleanin of the teeth' ok, and returned to mow.  I was gone a bit over an hour and mowed 10 minutes when the tire finally gave out.  Lynn, our legendary mechanic, rummaged around and found one that would hold air.  While we were fixin the bad tire, I noticed that the other tire was a bit low.  I mowed another 45 minutes or so and went in for lunch.  Decided to add air to the low tire before eating, so I wouldn't forget about it.  After takin 15 minutes or so to eat my PBJ sandwiches, the tire had lost about half the air I put in it.  Ended up gettin a new tire for that side.  I never lost two tires on one mower on the same day before. 

So I had to use the dreaded 5111 while Lynn wasfixed the tire.  I was mowin the roadside where they had been putting in the sewer line.  I think we've mowed that maybe once this spring.  Just been too busy out there.  I ended up snaggin a 'dead' phone line that was hidden in the grass.  Wrapped it up in my blades really good.  Had to to walk back to the shop for a pair of side cuts to cut myself loose.  The other end of the line was still attached to the pole.  By the time I got my blades freed of the phone line, the little Toro was ready to go.  Didn't get as much grass cut as I had hoped.  Oh, well, what ya gonna do??  I was able to get myself home without further problems and nothin disgusting has happened since work.  Must be gettin close to Tuesday . . .
