Fog, Rain & An Auction

There was another heavy, thick fog this mornin and 2.2" of rain in the gauge since yesterday mornin.  Most of it fell during the night.  I noticed these leaves over a parking lot drain.  Don't see leaves piled like very often

I ventured out around 9AM through the fog to an auction between Farmer and Hicksville.  These are actual names of towns.  Not much left of Farmer any more, but they do have a post office.  It is an enclosed front porch of a house that someone lives in.

About halfway there, the sky brightened and the fog began to burn off.  That didn't last long.  It began to get very dark and foggy and began to rain.

Then it began to pour!  Like a dumb$#%* I didn't bring my rain jacket.  Don't know what I was thinkin other than I wasn't thinkin.  The weather report and radar said more rain was on the way.  When the rain slowed up, I got my self signed in and headed to the tent to see what they had.  Didn't take me long to see that this was a small auction and there was nothing there for me.

I caught up with the  rain cell before I got home. My rain gauge collected another half inch.  I checked radar and the cell was dying out as it got to Bryan.  I'm thinkin the auction site got close to an inch or so.

The NWS put out a flash flood watch for 2 AM Sunday to 2 AM Monday this mornin.  They say to expect 2-3" with 4-6" in some spots.  That's gonna put an end to the soybean harvest for a few days for sure.
