Since there were only a couple local garage sales advertised locally, I decided to top off the tank and head out to Pettisville. I obviously waited a day too long to top off the truck. Oh well, I put more gas in the MINI than the truck.
The first sale I saw was this one . . . I like to see tents. It means that people are taking things serious.
I stopped at 19 sales. Some of the signs said everything started at 8 AM. The newspaper ad did not have a starting time, so I assumed a 9 AM starting time. Most sales start at 9 this time of year. I probably missed out on something, but I'll never know what . . .
I did ok. Only got into one push/shove situation with one of those little blued haired ladies that go to these things to get in my way. I'm pretty sure she was local, cause everyone took her side and said I started it . . .
Almost got into another "situation," this time with an old guy. He was 'handling' this monster 18 cup Drip 'O Lator coffee pot when I entered the garage. It was difficult, but I waited till he put it down before I grabbed it. All parts were there and would you believe it was only a quarter???? I quickly tucked it under my arm and gave anyone who was looking a "I dare you to take this from me" look. No one took my dare, so I bought it and moved on. This thing is 15" tall and 7-8" in diameter. I'm thinkin it is Tail Gate Party size. Click on my eBay Store link on the left if you want more details.
I ended up spending $6. Five of them were for a decent set of binoculars.
Pettisville is one of the area schools that has a windmill generating its electricity. They got some state or federal money to build it. Don't think they would have been able to do it with just local money. It will probably pay off in the long run. It was pretty impressive from where I shot the pic. The fog and drizzle didn't do anything for the overall photo.
Drivin by the local Walmart this AM, I spotted this. If you pay attention, you will see most anything imaginable parked there. This is the first time I've notice farm machinery. He is parked in two rows of parking spot and the drive between them.
There is a busy north/south state high way going through the middle of town. I've some interesting cargo pass through town over the years. Been thinkin I ought go sit on the town sqare with my camera and shoot a pic of anything interesting passin through.
