I've been making some semi-major landscape changes this fall that will be completed next spring. I finished pulling out five 'evergreen' type bushes this afternoon. They came out waaaay easier than I thought.
Last week I dug out an overgrown patch of perennials from the onion family. I cannot recall their name. Today I knocked the dirt off the roots and ran the lawn mower over them, mulching them to shreds. What I did not consider was the strong onion like smell. My eyes were burning during the mulching process. I probably shouldn't have done the mulching part. My sliding door was open during and after the mulching operation. When I came into the house much later, the house smelled of onions. Probably should not have had the door open. On the plus side, a generous spraying of Febreze about the house pretty much eliminated the onion odor. So if you are down wind of my back yard and you smell onions . . .
