This bed is ready for spring. I planted a few crocus bulbs, dutch iris bulbs, and 4 iris corms. There are a couple iris from last spring along with a few tulips and crocuses . . . or is it croci . . . I put the mums in last spring. They were labeled as spring bloomin mums, but they decided to grow and bloom this fall. They look a lot better than the mums I have in the front yard. For whatever reason they are very scrawny this year.
I have a clematis at the trellis in the middle of the bed. This was it's best blooming year since I planted it. Blossoms were very plentiful and large. I made the trellis of copper tubing before copper became expensive. Hate to think what it would cost to duplicate today.
Drivin by the tire plant, I noticed this pumpkin in the parking lot. I'm thinkin I saw one last year or the year before. This guy probably grows them . . . I know I've never seen anything near this size at the roadside stands or farmer's market.
They started erecting the steel for the new O'Reilly's auto parts store. It is almost directly across the street from the Autozone store. I think there are three independently owned auto parts stores in town also.
